Office team-building day in Centurion: a castle, a slide, and a lot of laughs

A 40-person engineering firm in Centurion booked a standard castle plus a 6m waterslide for their year-end team-building. Their original brief: "Anything that isn't a trust fall."

The vendor delivered both inflatables on a Friday afternoon, set up on the company lawn, and stayed available for the full 3-hour window. Cost: about R3,400 all-in, including delivery and the extra waterslide hose.

What surprised the organiser: the senior leaders queued behind the junior engineers for the waterslide. The hierarchy melted within fifteen minutes. The afternoon ended with a braai and several conversations that had been overdue.
